- May 2004 www.monstermagazine.no Demo: Illusion & Reality Part I - IV 2003, Without Knowing Why, Live 2003 Review by Martin Kvam: Magic Pie Not so many young bands nowadays tries to go into progressive rock, hence it's always pleasant when somebody does. Magic Pie from Moss, presents a five track demo, starting really fresh with a tune running for nearly ten minutes. The sound is more of a "neo-prog" style, although there is a number of elements from the 70's, especially regarding the sound from the keyboard. The group, consisting of a set of competent musicians, possesses a firm grasp on their music, instrumentally. The vocal is approved as well, and that's positive. The sound material turns out well, although there are some parts missing before it really becomes special. Nevertheless, this is a good start, and we will almost certainly look forward to improvements in the future.
