MAGIC PIE ‘MOTIONS OF DESIRE’
(INDEPENDENT)
Here we have another high quality Progressive
Rockband. MAGIC PIE come out of Norway, and their 8-track debut CD has a
playing time of 75 minutes, so we have some very long songs here, and
right from the start the band shows they are here to bring some high
quality progressive rock in the tradition of THE FLOWER KINGS, SPOCK’S
BEARD… I am safe to say that MAGIC PIE is sometimes as good as those 2
bands, just listen to the 20 minutes counting opener “Change”, a fantastic
70s inspired Progressive Rocksong with some beautiful melodies and strong
chorus, as well as long instrumental passages, a must-hear song for every
FLOWER KINGS fan out there! Happily, the remaining 7 songs are along the
same lines, with as other highlights “Full circle poetry”, “Without
knowing why” and “Illusion & Reality – part 3 Final breath” (a
fantastic uptempo rocker, with even SYMPHONY X kinda similarities).
Without a doubt, this CD of MAGIC PIE is a must-have for any Progressive
Rockfan, so go check out the site at: http://www.magicpie.net/ and
